Dizzy Don swaps academic cap for music-News

img8A new kid on the block in the music industry, Donald Maposa, aka Dizzy Don, is set to light up the entertainment world with his debut album, The Fikizolo, which he has been giving out to music lovers for free since its release early this month as a marketing strategy.

Dizzy Don, an Industrial Sociology graduate, claimed that he decided to quit his human resources job with a local beverages manufacturer last year to commit all his time to a fully-fledged music career, something he believes he was born to do.

“My debut album is definitely not for sale and so far I have given out 450 copies to different people because I think they need to know me first before paying for the music,” he said.

He said The Fikizolo was an introductory album meant to get music lovers ready for more good songs from his second album that will be released in December.

The album will contain 16 tracks, including Collateral, Freshly Ground and the exciting Pembera, which features Take 5.

“In all my tracks, I’ve featured various local artistes who have been in the industry for a while like Adiona, Sims27, MC Chita, Tricky T and J Boss to mention a few,” said Dizzy Don.

He said giving away his debut album for free was a very good and realistic move as he did not want people to pay for what they did not know.

Maposa said that dropping his profession for a musical career was not easy but was something he had to do because he felt it was a calling that defined his whole being.

The 27-year-old hip hop artist is married and has a two-year-old son, Gavin.
